I just had my dealer come and pick up my B2910 for its 50 hour maintainance. I was a little shocked when I got the bill. He charged me what I would consider a pretty hefty fee to haul the tractor about 30 miles. What would a reasonable hauling fee to trailer a compact tractor about 30 miles or a per mile charge be?Thanks.

As a pretty good rule of thumb for your local area, phone a couple of local tow trucks, about 2/3 of their rates should be pretty close to reasonable. Here in the Toronto, Canada area it would be about (30 mi. = 50 km. x $1.50/km)$CDN75.00, or about $US50.00 However, if you purchased the machine new from that dealer, I can't believe they would have the nerve to charge you a penny for the haul. Admittedly, I am not the normal consumer, but the dealer I use will happily give me a 'just traded-in' machine as a loaner on top of the free pick-up & delivery, he thinks it is a great way to get a 'test-drive opinion' of what the trade-in will need in the way of re-furbishing. Best of luck. ....

I agree that any transportation charge would be appropriate if the dealer wants keep the customer happy. At 50 hours, my dealer picked up the unit for free & charged no labor fees for the service. I just paid for the filters & oil. ....

@ 50 hrs, I agree with NO Charge for p/u & delivery, only for services & parts rendered. If you just purchased the tractor and the dealer made his $2000 plus on the sale, I think NO Charge would be reasonable for trucking the first time if only for public relations and word of mouth advertisement for the dealer.

How much did the dealer charge you? ....

Watch out for this one. A friend had to have his vehicle towed by the dealer, and needed to rent a vehicle from the dealer to use while his car was being fixed. So he rode in the tow truck to the dealer, and was charged an extra $30 for "taxi fee". ....
